A few habits that win more games. None of them are rules.

For everyone

  • Deaths are evidence. Every death reveals a role. Check who pushed for a Town player who got voted out, and who defended a Wolf.
  • Votes are public; reasons aren't. The journal keeps every ballot. Players who switch votes at the last second, or always vote with the crowd, are worth a closer look.
  • Work out the setup. There are only nine setups (see Rules and roles). A revealed or claimed role rules several of them out, and tells you which power roles might still be hiding.
  • Skipping is a real choice. No majority means nobody dies. With a weak case, a skip can be better than a coin-flip on a Town player, because every Town death brings Wolves closer to parity.

As Town

  • Sheep: your vote is your power. Ask specific questions ("Who would you vote, and why?") and push quiet players to commit.
  • Seer: a Wolf result is powerful but makes you a target. Consider waiting until you have a result worth dying for, or until the Guard can cover you.
  • Guard / Chef: protect whoever the Wolves most want dead: a claimed Seer, or the player leading the case against the Wolves.
  • Dairy Maid: your milk proves you're Town to one player. Pick someone influential, and they can vouch for you.
  • Priest: track a suspect. If they visited the player who died, you've probably found the Wolf holding the knife.
  • Nobles: you know each other are Town, a solid core to build on. Be careful about revealing it: Wolves may pick you off.

As a Wolf

  • Blend in. Take part, hold opinions, vote. Silent players draw suspicion.
  • Agree before the timer ends. Place your Kill target and Knife stamps early; your partner sees your drafts. A split vote is broken at random.
  • Hunt power roles. A claimed Seer or a suspected Guard is usually the best kill.
  • Alchemist: block whoever is most likely to protect or investigate the kill target.
  • Track Reader: find the power roles, then kill them or discredit them by day.
  • Watch the count. You win at parity. A Town vote-out plus a night kill each day gets there quickly; don't take risks you don't need to.

Playing with AI

  • Address AI players by name; the host prioritizes replies to people.
  • AI players read the whole transcript and track votes carefully. A consistent story matters more than a clever one.
  • Their confessionals and suspicion reports appear in the replay afterwards. It's a great way to see what they actually believed.
